being a jordanhead is a way of life 4 me and it does'nt effect my family because it my money not theirs. It's an obsession 4 me but I also collect CD's(music) I have about 1500 cd's and counting. I don't let it get to far but its a way of life 4 me and I love it. Peace

1. collector meanz 2 me ummmmm gathering an buyin wat u like an saving them as prized posesionz.ummm i started when i was young an my sis would alwayz wake me up 2 go buy jordanz on saturday morning an i neva got anything=/i used 2 alwayz want jordan buh neva got em. an then i got a job an i started gettin them an now i cant stop.

It would help alot with your paper.

1)2 me its a way of life & it's a way 2 keep my uncle's memory alive. he was a sneaker junkie & he got me started may he rest n peace.
2) collectin doesnt affect any aspect of my life xcept 4 me bein so damn fly.
3)I got n2 collectin bc i always envied my uncles fly ass shoe collection & now it;s like 2nd nature 2 me.
4)i think the fact that so many people r n2 it 4 many different reasons & @ the same time so many don't understand it that's y i say it's a culture not a sub-culture.
5) i love music just as much if not more than shoes. i have 3 mp3 players 1 has 18,000 songs the 2nd has 24,788 & the 3rd has 11,012. so i think music would b another culture im n2. not just 1 specific genre i listen 2 basically everything just as im not n2 only 1 type of sneaker.
6) i would say an obsession is somethin that takes control of ur life. & is more important 2 u than anything n ur life. i.e. family friends work etc...
7) i honestly think shoe collectin can become an obsession as can anything 4 that matter. sumthin as simple as readin can become an obsession.
8) yes it does. if they r a true collector they appreciate the fact that u collect. if theyre n2 4 the wrong reasons(which n my eyes would b attention) then they will hate on u 4 what u have if they don't have it. & if theyre not n2 cneakers they might think ur crazy 4 spendin so much time & energy on sumthin like shoes.
9) 2 me there r 2 guidelines that many people cross. a: stealing shoes just 2 b n the n crowd & b: buying fakes
10)yes there r, some people collect 4 the love of shoes some people collect bc it;s the thing 2 do. some people collect so that they may feel that their social status is higher than what it maybe. some people collect as an investment. there r many factors as 2 y sum collect sneakers. bottom line it's just a way of life.

1. Being a collector is like collecting rare pieces of art. It means everything to me that i will have items to cherish for the rest of my life. My passion for shoes got me started i love any shoes supras,jordans, reeboks, ect.
2. Yea kindve my dad always wonder why i spend my hard earned work money on shoes. At school the girls love me because i always have nice clean kicks. People love me. lol
3.A collector is a person who can find any pair of shoes the want they wouldnt stop at nothing to get that new heat. Being at every shoe event knowing the history, resell value, not getting cheated makes you a great collector.
4.It makes it sub-culture because everybody can get into whether it hiphop artists or your plain guy. Shoes are always going to be a part of modern culture.
5.None at the moment.I collect videogame systems.
6.An obsession is somethiing you cant get out of your system it never leaves your mind. Same way i feel about shoes.
7.Yes thats how it starts shoe collecting is an obsession you always check the new websites to see the new shoes.
8.Yea they always want me to sell them some shoes and hook them with my connection.
9.No i dont think so you do what you have to do to get the shoes. Never buy fakes though >=0
10.Yes age how rare they are price and resell value. Also how many are being produced.

1. What does being a collector mean to you? Being a collector is like uyou will do anything 2 get the kicks on ur feet its a way of life that has been around forever

What is it about shoe collecting that got your started? Its the way the shoe looks and for it makes u feel

2. Does collecting affect your job, school, family, home environment? No not really

3. What makes you collector or what makes a collector? That I wont stop till i have them. Its the love of it. When I see a pair I like I have 2 have them.

4. What characteristics of shoe collecting make it a sub-culture? idk

5. Do you belong to other sub-cultures outside of shoe collecting? What are they? I will say music i like almost any kind of music it helps me relax n chill back its a way of life.

6. What do you consider an obsession? Its something thats important and that you have to have

7. Can shoe collecting become an obsession? Yes

8. Does shoe collecting have an affect how people view you when they know you collect shoes? No not really

9. Do you feel there are guidelines that can be crossed when collecting? Buying fakes and just buying to show off

thanks yall for helping me out i really do appreicate the support..my teacher says she has been teaching for 20 years, and has said that this topic has to be the most interesting topic that she has ever heard a student doing. thanks you guys again...good looking on the movie i heard of the movie just never got around to it...duce
