So those who have private accts on twitter are therefore automatically out of the contest because you cant see they RT'd the mention of the contest because you aren't following them.. thought you should put that out there for folks who have private accounts on twitter.. or tweek the contest so that those people still have a chance to win and keep their account private.
Another thought is that what if the winners you chose in the past were mentioning you and saying there were there but you couldn't see it because their profiles were private.. that is something you should look into because then they should have the chance to win because it was more your error and not their missing their chance. I know who ever runs the twitter account may not want to follow all their followers but that might also be an option.
